A forest field, also called Agroforestry, is a form of agriculture in which crops, grass or livestock are actively and consciously combined with the planting, management and harvesting of trees (including nuts and the like). This type of farming is not new. The poplar meadows, where cows walk under the poplars, is a very old traditional agroforestry system. Just like, for example, apple orchards where sheep or cows walk. All kinds of new combinations are now emerging: nuts with cows, willows as fodder trees for cows and goats, pigs in forests and chickens in so-called 'chicken caravans' in the agroforestry plot or food forest. But the combination of fast and slow growing trees is also on the rise. Shred the fast-growing wood for ground cover under the slow-growing trees so that they grow better. There are already numerous combinations that increase biodiversity in agriculture.
